BBQ Charity Cook Off 2006

The Humble Lions Club held its 3rd Annual BBQ Charity Cook Off, on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the VFW POST 10352 at Waverly and Greens Rd. Cook Off Chairman was Lion Bob Blankenship, and funds were for the benefit of Humble Lions Club Charities. A spaghetti dinner was served Friday for the cookers. There were 27 cookers in competition, showing Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, Cobbler, and Open events. $1500.00 in Prize money was given out, with Trophies for the 1st thru 3rd prize winners and ribbons for 4th thru 10th place. Grand Champion was Don Canterbury with “ We B Smokin”, and the Reserve Grand Champion was Steve Williams with “Bubba Q”. Thanks to the VFW Post and to all the competitors. Hope to see you next year.

The Humble Lions Club meets at the Golden Corral on the first and third Thursdays of the month, at 7:30 P.M. Visitors are welcome.
