BBQ Charity Cook Off 2007

The Humble Lions Club held its 4th Annual BBQ Charity Cook Off on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the VFW POST 10352 at Waverly and Greens Road. Cook Off Chairman was Lion Bob Blankenship, and funds were for the benefit of Humble Lions Club Charities. A spaghetti dinner was served Friday for the cookers. There were 21 cookers in competition, showing Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, Rib Eyes, Cobbler, and Open events. Prize money was given out with Trophies for the 1st thru 3rd prize winners and ribbons for 4th thru 10th place. Grand Champion was Don Canterbury with “ We B Smokin”, and the Reserve Grand Champion was Roycie Raspberry with "Lady Pitmaster". Thanks to the VFW Post and to all the competitors. The Humble Lions Club meets at the Golden Corral on the first and third Thursdays of the month, at 7:30 P.M. Visitors are welcome.
