BBQ Charity Cook Off 2008

Our 5th Annual BBQ Cook-off was a great success this year. We had 32 cooking teams, competing in Chicken - Ribs and Brisket. We also had two jackpot categories which were Open and Rib Eye Steaks. Mike Cook was the winner of the Open preparing a Shrimp dish, and Don Canterbury won the 1st place Rib Eye. Don Canterbury of We B Smokin was also the over all Grand Champion of the cook-off, this being his third year in a row. Bonnie Barski of Poor Girl Cookers was the Reserved Grand Champion.

The Humble Lions Club served a Spaghetti Dinner for the BBQ Cookers on Friday night and had a silent auction on Saturday. Lion Bob Blankenship had a small BBQ pit made that was auctioned off before the awards - the highest bidder/winner was Darrell and Bonnie Barski. All monies raised will be going toward the Humble Lions Club Charities. We are looking forward to next year - June 5th and 6th, 2009 mark your calendars.
